Chef-grade performance at a home-cook budget — and we tell you exactly what you're getting. The Majesty Series 8-piece kitchen knife set is built on high-carbon stainless steel blades with a laser-etched Damascus pattern, ergonomic Pakkawood handles, and a 15° double-bevel edge. Eight knives that cover every task in a real kitchen, at $99 — because we don't dress this up as something it isn't. Backed by our 2-Year Epicurean Promise.
What is "laser Damascus" — and why we sell it honestly
Damascus knives come in two very different constructions, and the difference matters when you're deciding what to buy.
Real forged Damascus is layers of steel folded and welded around a high-carbon cutting core. The wave pattern is inside the steel. It starts around $300 for an 8-piece set from an honest brand.
Laser-etched Damascus is a wave pattern etched onto the surface of high-carbon stainless steel. The pattern is decorative — the underlying knife is a solid, capable single-piece stainless blade. It typically prices between $80 and $180 for an 8-piece set.
This is a laser-etched Damascus set. We say so out loud. Because the alternative — brands that charge $99-$149 for what they claim is "real forged 67-layer Damascus" — is almost never true at that price. The steel, forging, and labor cost more than the whole retail price. If it looks like Damascus and costs less than $200, it's laser-etched. Full stop.
What steel are the Majesty blades made from?
The blades are high-carbon stainless steel — a corrosion-resistant alloy suited to daily kitchen use. Sharpened to a 15° double-bevel edge, which is significantly finer than the 20-25° edge on typical Western knives.
Who is the Majesty 8-piece set best for?
- Home cooks upgrading from a $30 supermarket block set. The jump in sharpness, balance, and handle comfort is the biggest single-purchase improvement most home kitchens ever see.
- First apartment / first real kitchen. Eight knives, one gift box, under $100.
- Housewarming or graduation gifts. Presentable, functional, and the recipient won't stress about babying an $800 set.
- Backup or vacation-home set. The knives you keep at the lake cabin or the in-laws' rental.
- Culinary students on a budget. Covers every knife shape in a working curriculum.
What comes in the Majesty 8-piece set?

- 8" Carving Knife — long thin blade for roasts
- 8" Bread Knife — serrated, for crusty loaves and tomatoes
- 7" Nakiri Knife — straight-edge vegetable chopping

3 questions to ask before buying any $99 Damascus knife set
- Does the seller specify "laser-etched" or claim "real forged"? Real forged Damascus at $99 is almost always false advertising.
- Is the handle material named specifically (Pakkawood, G10, micarta) — or just "wood" and "resin"? Named materials mean the seller stands behind them.
- Is there a written warranty on handles? Our 2-Year Epicurean Promise covers any handle that fails under normal use within 2 years — no fine print, no photo dispute (just one photo showing our logo). Cheap sets typically offer no warranty or a 30-day return window that closes long before a handle would fail.

How do I care for laser Damascus knives?
- Hand-wash only, dry immediately. Never dishwasher.
- Store on a magnetic bar or in a wooden knife block. Loose in a drawer = dinged edges.
- Cut on wood or soft plastic. Never glass, ceramic, or stone. Never bones or frozen food.
- Hone before each use with a ceramic rod. Takes 10 seconds.
- Sharpen with a whetstone when honing stops restoring the edge. Typically every 3-4 months of daily use.
