Tidal Black – 7" Cleaver Knife
The Tidal Black 7" Cleaver is built for one job and one job well: breaking down produce fast. Not bones. Not frozen food. Big vegetables, whole cabbages, watermelon, winter squash — the stuff a chef's knife can handle but shouldn't have to.
The blade is real forged Damascus — 67 total layers wrapped around a high-carbon steel core, hardened to HRC 60±2 (the sweet spot professional chefs look for). That's why the edge holds for weeks of daily prep and sharpens cleanly on a whetstone once or twice a year. The wave pattern is inside the steel, not laser-etched on the surface — sand off the top and dip the blade in mild acid, the pattern comes right back because those layers are actually there.
The handle is deep black resin poured around real burl wood — no two are alike. Polished smooth, ergonomically shaped, comfortable during long prep sessions. Comes with a custom-fitted leather sheath so the edge stays protected in your knife drawer or on the magnetic bar.
Care matters. Hand-wash only, dry immediately, never dishwasher, never bones, never frozen food. Follow those rules and this cleaver stays sharp for years. Backed by the 12-month Epicurean Promise on handles — if the handle fails under normal use in year one, we cover it.
